Born and raised in The City Different, Robert Carr is a fifth generation Santa Fean. He showed artistic talent from an early age, and he has pursued his dream to become a professional artist since childhood.

Carr studied art at the The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, The Kansas City Art Institute, and the College of Santa Fe. He holds a Master’s degree in Art Education from The University of New Mexico and has experience with a wide range of mediums and processes.

Carr’s draws inspiration from the beauty of animals and his inner world accessible through dreams and mediation. His bronze sculptures explore the spiritual connections that people form with animals. In his work, he celebrates the richness of the human-animal relationship and the distinct, mysterious nature of every creature. In addition to sculpture work, Carr is a proficient draftsman. He works from his home studio in Santa Fe.
